Laser Hair Therapy at Van Scoy Hair Clinics Ohio
A non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses low-level laser light to stimulate blood flow to the scalp and support thicker, fuller-looking hair with no needles, no surgery, no downtime.
Laser hair therapy is one of the most conservative treatments in our Treatment Center, making it a common starting point for early-stage thinning or a maintenance layer alongside other treatments. At Van Scoy Hair Clinics, laser therapy is administered in-clinic or made available for at-home use as part of a personalized plan.
You May Be a Candidate for Laser Hair Therapy If You’re Experiencing:
- Early to moderate hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia)
- General thinning rather than a fully bald area
- Hesitation about needles, injections, or surgery
- A desire to support results from a recent hair transplant
- Interest in a treatment that can be continued at home between visits
- A need to strengthen and thicken existing hair rather than replace it
If any of these describe your situation, a private consultation can confirm whether laser hair therapy on its own or paired with another treatment protocol is the right fit for your goals.

What to Expect: Your Laser Hair Therapy Treatment, Step by Step
- Digital scalp analysis. A hair loss specialist examines your scalp and hair loss pattern to confirm laser therapy is the right fit or to recommend a complementary treatment alongside it.
- Treatment sessions. Low-level laser light is applied directly to the scalp for roughly 15-20 minutes per session, typically 2-3 times per week.
- In-clinic or at-home. Sessions can be done at one of our Ohio locations or, for clients who prefer it, with an at-home device as part of your plan.
- Ongoing monitoring. We track your progress over the course of your treatment program. Most clients follow a 3-12 month course, since laser therapy works gradually by supporting the hair growth cycle rather than forcing immediate change.
- Pairing with other treatments. For many clients, laser therapy works best as part of a broader plan that may include topical treatments, Exosome therapy, or PRP Hair Therapy.

What is Included With Every Laser Hair Therapy Treatment
- A private digital scalp analysis before treatment begins
- A treatment plan customized to your hair loss pattern and goals
- In-clinic sessions with a trained specialist, or a guided at-home option
- Ongoing progress check-ins throughout your program
- The option to combine laser therapy with topical or regenerative treatments for enhanced results
- Access to clinical-grade laser equipment that goes beyond what’s available in over-the-counter, at-home devices
How Laser Hair Therapy Works
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is FDA-cleared for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, hereditary pattern hair loss, in both men and women. It uses a specific, therapeutic wavelength of red light, sometimes called “cold laser,” since it produces no heat and causes no damage to the scalp. The light is absorbed by cells in the hair follicle, where it’s believed to stimulate circulation and cellular activity, encouraging follicles to move into and remain in their active growth phase.
Unlike laser hair removal, which targets and damages follicles, laser hair therapy uses low-energy light to support existing follicles rather than eliminate them.
Clinical Note: In our experience, clients see the most consistent results when laser therapy is used as a maintenance layer either supporting results after a hair transplant procedure or extending the effect of other treatment rather than as a sole solution for more advanced hair loss.
